Connecting Communities

Connecting Communities

Supporting the communities where we live, work and play is the core of Cornerstone Building Brands’ purpose, and throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, we’ve been working hard to help connect communities. Since 2016, our community support initiative, the Home for Good project, has helped more than 500 families become homeowners through our donation of more than $2M in exterior building products to Habitat for Humanity. Now, we’re supporting COVID-19 recovery by donating an additional $275k in product to Habitat’s pandemic relief campaign: Homes, Communities, Hope + You.

The Need is Great

Even before the COVID-19 pandemic, over 18 million U.S. households (1 in 6) were paying 50% or more of their income on housing, forgoing personal and economic stability that safe, decent and affordable housing provides. Now, as a result of COVID-19, low-income households are particularly at risk, given their concentration in at-risk jobs. Twelve million households have at least one contributing member working in an at-risk industry. It is clear that homeownership matters and not having access to this takes a toll on the health and wellness of families. Cost-burdened households with children spend on average $190 less on food and 70 percent less on health care when compared with similar households living in affordable homes.

Building Products Make a Difference

Through this donation, our residential building products will be used to help build safe, affordable housing in communities across the U.S. The donated windows, siding and accessories will make it possible for families to continue working toward their dreams of homeownership, even in the midst of this recovery.

Windows, Siding and Accessories Donated by our Family of Brands

Since 2016, we have donated residential building products to help build more than 500 affordable homes through the Home for Good project.
