The Home for Good project supports our company purpose of giving back to communities.
Rising housing costs and record housing shortages have worsened the affordable housing crisis over the past two years. Soaring housing costs have led to a substantial rise in housing cost burdens for the first time in 10 years. In 2020, 30% of all households had “unaffordable” rent or mortgage payments, defined as exceeding 30% of monthly household income, up 1.5 percent from 2019. In addition, the U.S. now has a deficit of 3.8 million homes, with the greatest supply shortages at low-income price points.
Since the Home for Good project’s inception in 2016, we’ve partnered with Habitat for Humanity, and donated more than $2.8 million in residential building products and countless employee volunteer hours to help build more than 600 homes in 90 communities. And through this difficult time, we continue to help build affordable housing for those in need.
Leaning on our shared commitment to community, we’ve partnered with some of Country Music’s most-awarded artists to help us spread the word about this critical issue. In 2022, we’re excited to have award-winning superstar Tyler Hubbard join the efforts.
