Music is the Connector. Music is powerful – the heartbeat of our nation, the universal language that has the power to connect us, inspire us and bring us together to achieve incredible things. Since its inception, the Home for Good project has worked hand-in-hand with partners from the Country Music industry who have been instrumental in generating awareness for our cause – and have been an active part of the solution.

This year, we’re thankful to have multi-platinum, award-winning artist Jordan Davis as our Home for Good project Ambassador. Together with Jordan Davis, we’re helping make a real, lasting impact on lives across the country.

HOMEOWNER STORY

PUTTING DOWN ROOTS CLOSE TO FAMILY

When Crystal moved to the Raleigh area to be closer to her family, she initially rented while settling into her new community. As she started looking for a place to call her own, rising housing costs in the area quickly made homeownership feel out of reach. “It got expensive fast. I thought, I’m just not going to be able to own here,” Crystal said.

Then Crystal discovered Habitat for Humanity Greater Raleigh through a volunteer opportunity with her church. Just three months and 200 sweat equity hours later, she was on her way to becoming a homeowner. Crystal closed on her home in Raleigh’s Old Poole Place community in 2026, where Cornerstone Building Brands has donated Ply Gem windows and Mastic siding to homes through our Home for Good project. For Crystal, her new home is more than a place to live. It’s a place to put down roots, stay close to family and create something lasting for her niece and nephew.

HOMEOWNER STORY

A SAFER HOME FOR THE YEARS AHEAD

James and Christine Mitchell had called their Murfreesboro, Tennessee, house home for more than 25 years. But over time, their home began to need repairs and updates that were increasingly important for their safety. James, who was 90 and living with a heart condition at the time, and Christine, 88, turned to Rutherford County Area Habitat for Humanity’s Critical Home Repair program for help addressing needed maintenance and modifications.

Through the Home for Good project, Cornerstone Building Brands helped give their longtime home new life with donated Mastic siding and energy-efficient Simonton windows. The improvements helped make the Mitchells’ home safer, more comfortable and refreshed its exterior, allowing them to continue enjoying the place that had been part of their lives for more than two decades.

A PLACE TO COME HOME TO

De’Sheria works for a nonprofit in south central Tennessee, where she connects clients with the resources and community support they need to succeed. Her favorite part of the job is seeing someone achieve a goal or get the help they need. After renting apartments for the past eight years, De’Sheria got to experience that happiness firsthand.

With support from Habitat for Humanity and donations from sponsors like Cornerstone Building Brands, De’Sheria and her family now have a forever place they can always come back to. De’Sheria is excited about this new start and what it means for her family – hosting holidays, having more space for their pets, and spending quality time together playing games and doing karaoke.

Out of a tornado came a forever home

Sallie and her son, Casey, are two brave and determined individuals who have faced incredible adversity in the wake of the devastating December 2021 tornado that destroyed their apartment in Kentucky. In the aftermath of the disaster, Sallie and her son were left with no home and a determination and fortitude to rebuild their lives. Despite the overwhelming loss and heartache, they refused to give up hope and remained determined to create a better future for themselves.

With the support of their community, partnership with Habitat for Humanity and donations from sponsors like Cornerstone Building Brands, Sallie and her son began the process of securing their forever home.
