Award Recognizes Cornerstone Building Brands’ Commitment to Fostering an Inclusive, Equitable and Safe Work Environment

February 8, 2024

Cornerstone Building Brands, Inc. (“Cornerstone Building Brands”), a leading manufacturer of exterior building products in North America, has been named as one of America’s Greatest Workplaces for Diversity 2024 by Newsweek. Compiled in partnership with market data research firm Plant-A Insights, the list is based on a survey of more than 220,000 individuals and approximately 1.5 million comprehensive reviews of companies in North America, providing insight into working environments, compensation and benefits, and corporate culture, among other categories.1

“We’re honored to be recognized as one of America’s greatest workplaces for diversity for our efforts to foster a culture rooted in diversity, equity and inclusion,” said Rose Lee, President and CEO of Cornerstone Building Brands. “We thrive because the backgrounds of our employees are as varied as their talents and we stand together as one winning team whose diversity reflects the communities we serve.”

Inclusion is one of Cornerstone Building Brands’ three core values and the company is deeply committed to building an inclusive and equitable work environment based on mutual respect, where equal employment opportunities are available to all current and prospective team members. As of 2023, the company reported 45 percent of their U.S. workforce as minority, while 55 percent of the Executive Committee was reported as female.

Cornerstone Building Brands aspires to ensure the diversity of its workforce is reflective of the communities in which it operates and the customers it serves. In 2022, Rose Lee signed the CEO Action for Diversity & Inclusion Pledge — a commitment to cultivating a workplace that supports open dialogue around DE&I. In line with the pledge, Cornerstone Building Brands is committed to implementing bias education and training, best-practice sharing and engaging with senior leaders on actions to develop DE&I strategies. The company also encourages team member involvement in four Employee Resource Groups (ERGs), which are actively sponsored by company leaders and provide a safe space for personal expression, professional development, mentorship opportunities, allyship and more.

“Diversity is a widely discussed topic – and it remains a crucial factor as people look for an employer or a business partner,” said Nancy Cooper, Global Editor in Chief at Newsweek. “Newsweek and market-data research firm Plant-A Insights are proud to introduce “America’s Greatest Workplaces for Diversity 2024,” highlighting companies that are committed to offering diverse and inclusive work environments.”

In addition to being honored for its diversity efforts, Cornerstone Building Brands was also named as one of America’s Most Responsible Companies 2024 by Newsweek. The annual list was a joint effort with global research and data firm Statista based on an evaluation of all three pillars of a company’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) efforts.
